Prepping for Folklore 2 with Giles and Abi Christopher

September 25, 2016

22nd Nov 2022. Today has been so much fun immersing myself in the beautiful world of a Winter Wonderland set. Prepping gorgeous plates, fake snow, painting logs and sticks, buying crystals and dried flowers ready for our Narnia style food shoot on Thursday. Ill be spending the day making the sets with Giles and Abi at their gorgeous studio by the river Thames in the heart of Sunbury. We always have a great

giggle together. I will also be cooking up the new menu dishes for Drake and Morgan and mixing up the cocktails, using all the tricks of the trade and heap of Mrs Betters Bitters. One of my favourite clients to shoot for, Drake and Morgan allow us carte blanche to al la carte our foodie fantasies, and as you can see from the above we took their brief and ran wild.

Guardian Flashback : Tom Felton... SPOILER ALERT: Draco Malfoy is actually a lovely chap.

July 13, 2016

Most weeks we have our great fun feature Flashback in the Guardian Saturday Magazine. Its where we recreate an after shot of a celebrity from an important photo to them and bring it to the now. Its usually me Styling all sorts of batty crazy contraptions and costumes, that test the old skill set, with either my dear friend/photographer Pal Hansen or brother-in-law/photographer Simon Webb.

We avoid using any photoshop if we possibly can and make everything from scratch to perspective to camera. This usually amounts to complete controlled chaos, that leads to our spot the difference shots on the Guardian website and Saturday feature. We have such great relationships with our editorial friends there. I cannot tell you what a kind, personable gentleman Tom was. Regailing some fab stories from the world of Harry Potter.

George, George, George of the Jungle...

May 11, 2016

We love a bit of George O’Dowd in our house. Nov 22 : Boy George entered the Im a celebrity Jungle as what can only be expected to be a crazy, fairly gross rollercoaster of Prime Time TV. My friend for my whole career (long time) Joel Anderson did some fabulous press shots before they all went in, and I love the spots on his jacket. I was asked to style George for Attitude Magazine, and its always been a bit of a fave of mine, as I adore working with flowers, and he was such a laugh that day. It was Dahlia season so some of the big dobber balloon heads

really stood out, hence why we used one for the last shot of the day, before all the flowers died and went to compost.

In 2016 my partner Nick. J.Webb (or Nicknoks as I call him) and our dear friend Ian Denyer made a fabulous documentary for aunty Beeb: Boy George’s 1970s Save me from Suburbia. Its such a great watch and his Mum is such a sweetheart.

Good luck in Oz, George
